Villa Stellata

Villa Stellata is the original farmhouse, transformed into a lovely and comfortable pool-side retreat. As you enter the gate of the old dry-stack rock wall, you see your haven at the far-end of the pool.

The front door opens into a saltillo-tiled hallway, with one bedroom on each side. On the left is La Stanza Azzurra (Blue Room), featuring a king-sized bed, table and chairs, reading chair, and flat-screen TV/DVD player. Its bathroom is fitted with a blue-tiled corner Jacuzzi tub, towel warmer, granite countertop and painted sink. When you leave your soothing tub, put on your robe and crawl under your duvet, the line-dried sheets and lavender scent will be l’ottima.

Across the hall is La Stanza Rossa (Red Room), featuring a gas-log fireplace alongside your king-sized bed, reading chair and ottoman, and flat-screen TV/DVD player. The bathroom is a little gem, with a large tiled shower, towel warmer, and granite countertop. Get your bowl of popcorn, tuck into bed under your duvet, and watch the flicker of the fireplace.

The hallway leads to a kitchen, stocked with dishes and utensils, snacks, coffee, and your breakfast goodies. It, too, has been restored with a granite countertop, microwave, coffeemaker, full-sized refrigerator, and deluxe toaster oven. If you are the first to rise, enjoy the silence in the nook next to the kitchen, or sit on the covered front porch at your bistro table.

Next to the porch is an outdoor kitchen, shared with Villa Celeste: a tiled counter with sink, a full-sized refrigerator, and a stainless gas grill with a side-burner, perfect for bruschetta.

After a day by the pool or under the oak tree, don’t miss the sunset and the moonrise from the lookout deck above you. Toast today and tomorrow with a flute of prosecco before you retire for the evening. Buona notte.
